The Crown
A beautiful 16th century Grade 2 listed thatched pub at the heart of the community, The Crown is the only remaining pub in the village. A hundred years ago there were at least six: The Crown, The Red Lion, The Fish, The Seven Stars, The Swan and The Old Inn.
The Crown is now a community-owned pub and a Free House. Since completing the purchase from Fuller’s on 8th June, the pub has been transformed by an extraordinary team of volunteers from across the village. Between them they have built, plumbed, laid flooring, painted, decorated, restored, cleaned, gardened and tackled countless other jobs. The volunteers have continued to come forward in ever-increasing numbers, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to The Crown and to its place at the heart of our community.
