The Planning Application Process

Cuddington Parish Council is notified of planning applications through Planning and Building Control at Buckinghamshire Council.

The Parish Council procedures for Planning Applications are as follows:

• Buckinghamshire Council asks the Parish Council to comment on the planning application
• The application is raised as an Agenda item at the next Council meeting. A Clerk's Planning Report accompanies the Agenda when necessary.  This details the planning application, history to the planning application, recent planning decisions and any large planning updates.  
• A Chair's Planning Report is prepared and issued to Councillors.This reviews the planning applications for the Agenda and considers what the Chair considers to be the material planning considerations along with a precise of any correspondence.  
• During this process, Cuddington Parish Council consults with it's voluntary planning consultant, Ken Trew.
• If required, an informal site visit is arranged by appointment with the owner
• Applicants, supporters and opposers are invited to speak during “Parishioners Questions Time” (before the application is discussed)
• The application is discussed by the parish Councillors and a decision is made
• Comments are logged as “No Objections”, “Supports” or “Opposes” (with supplementary comments/reasons)
• If “Supports” or “Opposes” is selected and Planning and Building Control are minded to decide the application at odds with these views, they will refer the application to the Development Control Committee for a decision.  Applicants are invited to come along and address the Committee.
