Welcome to the Village Picture House at Cuddington, screening a wide range of films from current blockbusters to classic movies of the past, along with Live and Encore presentations from the National Theatre. All in High Definition – or 4K Ultra High Definition where available – and in high fidelity, multi-channel surround sound.

We operate a paperless system for online bookings: no tickets are sent out either by post or email. On the day, we have a list of all those who have bought tickets online, so we shall know that you have bought seats. Online bookings close approximately two hours before the start of the event.
All events are screened at the Bernard Hall, Upper Church Street, Cuddington HP18 0AP. The venue has a hearing loop (see the final article below). Please note that car parking outside the Hall is limited; overflow parking is normally available in the Playing Fields car park at the end of Bernard Close. Please respect our residents’ parking places and do not park in Lower Church Street.

Julian Sklar (McKellen) is a once-legendary, elderly and eccentric painter based in Bloomsbury. In the 1990s he completed two series of paintings called “The Christophers” based on his lover at the time, while a third series of “Christophers” has not been worked on in years and remains unfinished.
Julian’s unscrupulous children (Corden and Gunnng) hire Lori Butler (Coel), a young artist and skilled art forger, to pose as his assistant and finish the “Christophers” behind their father’s back. They see this scheme as a way of compensating themselves for Julian’s bad parenting, planning to sell the finished "Julian Sklar" paintings for a fortune after his death...

Dusty (O’Connor), the last in a long line of ranchers, loses his family ranch and home in southern Colorado following a sudden, catastrophic wildfire. Left with virtually nothing, Dusty is forced to sell his remaining cattle and relocate to a government-run trailer community alongside other neighbours who also lost their homes.

Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon
On 27th July 1986, Queen performed the largest-ever stadium concert at the Népstadion in Budapest in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. The concert was part of the famed Magic Tour, which was the last time the band toured with lead singer Freddie Mercury.
With three years to go before the fall of the Berlin Wall, this was the first Western rock concert performed in a stadium behind the then Iron Curtain. Some fans had travelled from as far away as Russia and Poland to see the concert. It was of such significance to the Hungarian authorities and film industry that a group of the country’s top film cameramen and technicians were brought together to film it for posterity.
Now, this original concert film has been beautifully rescanned and remastered in 4K Ultra High Definition alongside a dynamic new audio mix, featuring many of Queen’s favourite tracks – “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “I Want To Break Free” and “We Are The Champions” along with many more.

Hearing Loop System
There is a hearing loop system in the Hall and this is switched on during all our films, NT Live plays and other productions.
Most hearing aids are able to receive the signal from our amplifier, which will “broadcast” the centre audio channel (which carries the actors’ speech) from our films and stage plays. To pick up the signal, switch your hearing aid to “T”, “T-coil” or “Telecoil”.
